Welcome to my poetry blog!  My name is Therese, and I’ve created this place to share my poetry and prose, and I hope that visitors to my funky little world will have a laugh, perhaps find a little of themselves between the lines of shared experiences, and maybe through these words find a companion for part of the journey that we’re all on.

Poetry can be funny, it can be about love, loss, friends, beauty, nature…the topics are limitless.  Some of my poems are about those moments in life when I got lemons–so I wrote about their tartness.  But when you get lemons, naturally (well, maybe it doesn’t come that naturally!) you make lemonade, so from my lemons I tried to create something sweeter, and my poetry was born–and is continually evolving.

I will also occasionally steer you to the work of other poets, those published and not, because there is a great deal of beautiful art out there which should be shared and heralded.  Words have power: to heal, to proclaim love, to heal, to teach, to enlighten, to comfort, to uplift,  Poetry affects each of us in many different ways, but I hope those who cross this path find something to think about, something to laugh about, something to smile about, and maybe even something to inspire you to write about!

Here are some quotes about poetry that capture the essence of the art:

“If there were no poetry on any day in the world, poetry would be invented that day. For there would be an intolerable hunger.”

Muriel Rukeyser

“Poetry is like fish: if it’s fresh, it’s good; if it’s stale, it’s bad; and if you’re not certain, try it on the cat.”

Osbert Sitwell

So sit back, relax, take a poetry break, and indulge yourself in a little bit of inner peace and reflection.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful day!

“This poetry. I never know what I’m going to say.”  — Rumi
